SWIM Simulator (SWarm sIMulator) – 2015

A simulator for underwater swarm robotics that I developed, completely in Java. It uses jMonkeyEngine (jME).

Home Monitoring System – May 2014

A project that my teammate Haitham Ghalwash and I worked on in the Spring of 2014. It consists of a WSN, RFID network, WiFi network, a robot, and web interface. We built the robot nearly from scratch by hacking an RC car and only using its chassis. All other components have been carefully selected and a complete system design was conducted.

AR-1.1 – Jan 2018

A simple autonomous robot. Uses Arduino UNO and three ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles and avoid them.

What my connections are saying

Here’s what people think about Sherif

Software Engineer @ Modo Labs

Sherif and I closely worked on the newest products of Modo Labs. Working in a small team with him showed me how structural and resourceful he was when it came to creating complex structures for a web application. He has probably touched almost every product we have and left a significantly positive mark on our team. One of the most thoughtful coworkers I ever came across. He is attentive and focused on the work and provides excellent feedback on the work of his peers. I have really enjoyed working with him and I wish him great success for the rest of his career.

VP of Engineering at Cents

Sherif is a wonderful person to work with. I had the pleasure of working with Sherif on a key project of mine that featured many moving parts, and Sherif was able to bring his attention to detail, intelligence, adaptability, and engineering elegance in a way that had an immediate impact to the project and benefitted those involved.

IAM Architect at University of Connecticut

Sherif has been an integral part of the Application and Technology Solutions group at the University of Connecticut while working in parallel on his PhD. He has been a valuable contributor to a diverse set of teams within the group.

His drive to contribute and participate in successful projects is unconstrained and no task seems too big or too small for Sherif. He approaches all challenges with calm and efficacy.

Retired IT Manager at UCONN

It has truly been a pleasure working with and getting to know Sherif for the last few years at UConn. Very intelligent, committed, conscientious, and a fine human being. Sherif is a go-to guy that always does a quality job with great attention to detail.
